My Answer To The New Bullshit From The Neocons

The political sound bites and the shallow depth of the national news broadcasts are beginning to turn the American people around on their criticism of the Iraq war. The new perception concerning Iraq is that the Surge is working and the American presence there is allowing the Iraqi government and people the chance they needed to establish a Democracy and prove president Bush correct on his decision to invade, remove Saddam and make the world a safer place.

The proof for this change in perception is claimed to be: 1) the number of civilians killed is down; 2) the Shiite and Sunni sectarian violence is down; 3) the Iraqis are joining the American forces to fight Al Qaeda.

The number of civilians killed has been reduced because of the Iraqi refugees that have fled to Iran, Saudi Arabia and Syria. There are far less people to kill! Millions of Iraqis have been displaced because of the violence.

The sectarian violence is down because the Shiite neighborhoods have been cleansed of Sunnis and vice-versa. The need for the sectarian violence has waned over the four years of killing and terrorizing the opposing sect. The neighborhoods are at an acceptable level of minority population, allowing the intense killings to slow down.

Al Qaeda has never been an acceptable Islamic organization in Iraq. The Iraqi people have historically shunned outside groups in favor of local militias, who carry out the religious practices of the majority sect in the region. Al Qaeda has not been trusted nor encouraged in pre or post Saddam Iraq. It was no surprise when the Shiite militia stood up against them and joined the American forces to do battle and drive the Al Qaeda intruders from the various regions.

Now that the violence is beginning to subside, at least temporarily, attention should be turned to the plight of the millions of Iraqis displaced from their homes and homeland and living, as nearly all refugees from such terrible violence do, in terrible squalor and disease. Less than one thousand have been granted asylum in the United States even though we are the ones who “liberated” them. Only within the last three months has our State Department begun processing in earnest the Iraqi refugee requests for asylum in our country.

It should never be forgotten that the United States, under the leadership of an incompetent, megalomaniacal tyrant invaded a sovereign nation illegally and without provocation for reasons that were fabricated by the Bush Administration and for Bush to enhance his image as a president who steered our nation through war into peace and safety. He thought it would be a cakewalk; it turned out to be everything but! The neocons can put whatever spin they want on this mess but like a cat in a sandbox, they can hide their crap but can’t change the fact that there is still crap and a lot of it.
