I read an article condemning Jimmy Carter’s trip to meet with some of the leaders of Hammas. The article was on Darryl Cagle’s political cartoon website and it was written by, of all people, Oliver North. Rollie pollie Ollie and the Contra Rebels who brought us one of this country’s most embarrassing moments when his illegal arms for drugs, er airplane parts for Iranian planes took place in the Reagan administration’s years. What a joke! Ollie North criticizing Jimmy Carter! If the Bush administration (and Clinton, Bush I, Reagan) would have kept up the initiative of the Carter administration and kept the talks active and the pressure on both the Israelis and Palestinians, Jimminy Carter would not have had to hop off to Hammas and try again to broker peace in the region. Here's what might have happened with the Bush Administration's plan for Peace in the Middle East from my wild imagination.
The phone rings on President Bush's desk but he can’t get to it, he’s on the toilet reading a Rush Limbaugh book.
Mr. Bush, “Darn it, now who is it? It has taken me seven years to get to page 44 but it was worth it. I finally got all of my advisor’s to just say “Ditto, sir” when asked their opinions. It has saved lots of time and tax payer money and allowed me to make decisions in a rapid yet supportive manner. Ha, here's to you, Frank Rich and your New York Times! You won’t be so quick to call me stupid anymore! That’s a great beginning to my legacy! Darn I wish Nancy Pelosi was here. She can clean me up better than anyone on my staff!”
The answer machine clicks in: “Hi, you’ve reached the desk of the president of the United States. To continue in English, press one. (Beep, the sound of “one” being pressed.) If this is Putin or Ahmadinejad, get lost. If this is New Orleans, I did all I’m going to do! Quit calling, I don’t have the bus keys! Anyone else, leave a message, I know where the erase button is and how to use it!” Beep!
Condoleeza Rice’s voice: “Good morning, Mr. President, I was just hanging around by the pool and enjoying breakfast. Nothing’s going on, except your magnificent war in Iraq, and the rest of the week looks good, too. If you don’t mind, sir, I think I’ll take this week off and do a little shopping. I’ll see you next Monday for your staff meeting. Thank you my husb, er, president. Muwha!”
Mr. Bush tries to wipe and put the book down at the same time. He’s gotten better, he has at least not dropped the book into the toilet while attempting to fold the toilet paper! Never mind!
Bush yells; “Oh not again, now I’ll have to buy another book! I have made that idiot Limbaugh rich! Oh well, the information it contains is priceless. I mean, who’d pay for it? Oh, I made a joke! I must make note of it for my legacy – sparkling wit.”
The president returns Ms. Rice’s call. “Condi, hi it’s me. George. The president! Yeah, hi, how was your breakfast? Oh, good, good, good. Condie, I don’t care about the pancakes, OK? Before you take the rest of the week off, do you think you could call Olmert and set up some talks between him and the Jordanians? Why the Jordanians? Because they’re both in the Middle East and we should do something about the Israeli’s difficulties with their neighbors. It will look good in my legacy. Well, yes it will be a lot better than trying to talk with the Palestinians. Those sheet heads are always crying about civil rights and the fact that the Israelis destroy the Palestinian neighborhoods and kill their children in retaliation for the suicide bombings. Well, forget them! There’s no oil in Palestine, why should we listen to them? Come to think of it, there’s no oil in Israel, either. So why are we supporting them? I’ll call you back, Condi.”
Mr. Bush presses a button on his intercom. The answer: “Nancy Pelosi; Hi darling, we getting together soon?”
Mr. Bush; “Sorry, Nancy, not right now. I pressed the wrong button. Bye.”
He tries again. Answer: “Lincoln Bedroom; John McCain speaking.”
Mr. Bush: “Oh, sorry John, go back to sleep.”
John McCain: “OK, Mr. President. I will, Mr. President. I love your war, Mr. President. Oh, and please tell his holiness, the Pope, thank you for the rosary. And when you see him again, could you ask him what it’s used for?”
Bush: “Ask him yourself, he’s lying right next to you!”
John McCain, “Is that who that is? I did not recognize him without his pointy hat. He wouldn’t leave me alone; all night he wanted me to play this game called ‘Yes, Your Eminence, I am the altar boy of your dreams!’ I told him to take his hands off me, I’m not a Catholic, a Democrat or gay.”
Mr. Bush, “Good work, John, I knew you could handle him. After all, you must have experienced worse horrors in the Hanoi Hilton. No? Not even close, huh. Well, try and get some sleep. After all you are running for president and you have some big shoes to fill. Mine, you idiot!”
Bush tries another button. Answer: “Laura Bush. What do you want, dummy?”
Frustrated, he gets out from behind the desk, walks over to the door, opens it and yells “Where is Bob Gates?”
Voice from down the hall answers: “He’s out hunting quail with Dick Cheney! Dummy!”
Mr. Bush: “Laura, is that you? Never mind. Oh no, now I’ll need another Secretary of Defense!”
Bush goes back to his desk and places a call. “Good morning, General Patraeous! How are things going? What’s that? No, I understand, General, take time to duck and cover, I’ll wait.”
After several minutes: “Yeah, general, the reason I called was to ask if you have any small nuclear devices laying around that you could spare? You know, like a hand grenade or something. Well, I know they don’t make nuclear hand grenades – who’d try to use one? Right? No I guess I’m thinking of a small missile, you know, that won’t start a nuclear war but will send one heck of a message. I was wondering if you could send a couple of them into Palestinian territory, you know, mess up a couple of neighborhoods and let them know that we’re pretty much on Israel’s side. After all we want God to like us, too! You’ll see what you can do? That would be great, general. What’s that, do I know Frank Rich’s phone number? Not off hand, I’ll transfer you to Information.”
Bush thinks: “Wow, what a chapter this will make. I can see the headline now; ‘Vigorous work by Bush and his army convince the fifty four remaining Palestinians that their situation is hopeless and they agreeably sign a peace treaty with Israel’. The chapter will tell how I alone came up with the idea of a small nuclear device to get and hold the Palestinian’s attention long enough to convince them to sign a peace treaty. I’ll have the best legacy ever!”
Bush places another call, "Uncle Dick! Hi it's little George! Can we do lunch? I have something to tell you! You'll be so proud of me, Uncle Dick!

Happy New Year, Everyone! For as long as it lasts, 2008 promises to be a very significant year. We will finally elect a new president (hopefully the year will last until Election Day) and get rid of the ignoramus that keeps making situations worse than anyone can imagine. His latest fiasco, the dance of death that Bush and Rice concocted between Bhutto and Musharraf played out as most feared with the death of Benizer Bhutto and the frightening possibility that the Islamic radicals could get their hands on Pakistan's nuclear weapons. If that even remotely appears that it could happen, watch for Israel, the U.S., Britain, Russia, China and India to launch pre-emptive strikes against the Pakistani missile sites before they can be used against us. Then, literally, all hell will break loose with fighting erupting in Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq and Syria if not the entire Middle East and beyond. However, if we succeed in neutralizing the Pakistani nukes, we will probably stave off a nuclear holocaust that would engulf the Middle East and their neighbors; but a horrific war would ensue that will result in millions of dead and more millions wounded.
However, if the Islamic militants suddenly and without warning acquire these weapons, they could immediately launch them at Israel and the American troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. Then the countries mentioned previously would retaliate in kind with their nuclear arsenals fired within a half hour of the arriving Islamic nukes. It won't matter then who rules the world because the world will run amok and the inmates will be running the asylum.
The end of the world as we know it could be realized in 2008! I’m not talking about God smiting us; I’m talking about us smiting us! If Pakistan’s weapons are fired, the reaction of Israel, the U.S., Britain, Russia and China deploying their nuclear arsenals will wreak havoc on the world; spreading rapidly from country to country. The U.S., Canada, Mexico and South America could be spared the direct nuclear bombardments only to face a worse fate; the nuclear winter that will follow and the slow death of most animal life on earth. It could only take a spark to ignite this powder keg.

The Next World War. Courtesy of George Bush
I recently received an email that said that history will prove George W. Bush a wise and courageous man who deposed a wicked despot that needed to be removed in order to make the world a safer place. The email went on to condemn those of us who oppose Mr. Bush’s attack on Iraq, and our claim that it was a mistake at best and a self-serving act of a desperate president who attempted to make himself a hero after the 9/11 horror, at worst.
Well, I’ll be damned. We who are opposed to the Shrub’s illicit activities are not the ones who made up the lies, false intelligence and character assassinations that got us into war. Then when these lies were exposed, W. made up more crap to keep us there in
Paul Simon, of Simon and Garfunkel, said it best in his song The Boxer, ”a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest.” This has served the Bush administration well. His speech writers give Bush lofty sounding, patriotic rhetoric that people hear and accept on its face value. We become mindless Noids, duped by duplicity, dumbfounded by denouncements of didactic drama and devoured by disdain for the devils that attacked us. Instead of if it feels good, do it George has changed it to if it SOUNDS good, do it! A similar historical figure had this same affect on his people: Adolph Hitler. Before the poor German people knew what hit them, their children were goose stepping to patriotic German marches and exclaiming Heil Hitler at every opportunity. They also followed their mad hatter down some very dark holes, the worst of which was the attempted eradication of non conforming Germans, Gypsies and Jews. It too would have been much, much worse but no one had nuclear weapons until the ones the

To Die Hard Bush Supporters - Wake Up!
If I hear the Bushkies regurgitate their mantra "we're fighting them in Iraq so we don't have to fight them here!" one more time, I'm going to puke. First of all, who the hell are "them"? Bush attacked the ONLY nation in the region, except Israel, that did not have any Al Qaeda training camps, encampments or personnel of any kind! So who the hell did he intend to fight over there so we wouldn't fight "them" over here? It could not have been Bin Laden or Al Qaeda!
Bush knew Bin Laden and Al Qaeda were not in Iraq but he needed Congress and the American people to think that they were so that the Administration could fabricate additional reasons for attacking Iraq, along with their claims of WMD's and nukes. It was a good thing for them that they inclided this as one of their reasons because there were no WMD's or nukes and, even though this too was a lie, they brought it along for the ride. However, their plan to attack Iraq almost fell through when a CIA operative located Osama and several influential leaders of Al Qaeda at a meeting in the mountain stronghold of Tora Bora on the Afghanistan/Pakistani border. The CIA agent called for the deployment of drones to take out Bin Laden and the Al Qaeda leaders. He called the CIA command post in Afghanistan three times, each time giving the co-ordinates of the meeting location along with confirmation that it was indeed Osama Bin Laden. The CIA command post contacted the White House for the go-ahead to send the drones. That permission never came. Why not? Well, it may never be known for certain, but one explanation that fits and fits like a glove is that if they killed Bin Laden and some of the high ranking leaders of Al Qaeda, the administration would no longer have a reason to attack Iraq under the guise of "fighting them over there instead of over here."
Within weeks after taking office, Bush charged Vice President Cheney with conducting meetings to establish a national energy policy. These meetings were held in secret between Dick Cheney and the Presidents and CEOs of the major oil companies. The minutes of these meetings have remained secret despite repeated requests for them by Congressman Henry Waxman.
Could it be possible that George Bush, and select cabinet members; Richard Cheney, Karl Rove and Donald Rumsfeld, included as part of the energy plan the invasion of Iraq, to destabilize an already unstable region, cause fear and further unrest within the oil producing countries that would result in a significant increase in the price of oil per barrel with a resulting increase in the price of gasoline?
Now, admittedly, this sounds far fetched and I cannot begin to belive that an American sitting president would commit such a heinous crime in order to increase his family's, friend's, former employer's and, when he leaves office, his own wealth. I reject this notion, but want to know the real reason we attacked Iraq because it was none of the reasons given by the administration; they were all lies.

Why I Dislike George W. Bush (Like He Cares!)
All of the political blogs I have written have been critical of George Bush and his administration. Most people who read them assume that I am a staunch Democrat. Not true; and to prove it wait until Hillary gets in the White House. I am a Centrist with strong Libertarian and Liberal leanings. I feel that Government has no business in people’s private lives except to protect children, the elderly, the retarded and anyone else who cannot protect themselves from the many predators that exist in the real world and who have no qualms about taking advantage of these vulnerable people and hurting or killing them. People must be protected from those in society who are uncaring that their needs and desires are at odds with the common good (e.g. pedophiles, drug dealers, serial killers, etc.) and who will only stop their offensive practices when they are captured and confined. This, along with national defense and infrastructure are the three largest areas where I think government is needed.
Politics in the United States today has become unruly, contentious and unproductive. Politicians act like spoiled brats, interested only in getting their way. Spending by both parties has become unchecked and irresponsible. I would estimate a guess that nearly half of the projects contained in bills passed in Congress and signed into law, are unnecessary and unlawful and spend government tax dollars to benefit private concerns that are not supportive of the common good or public needs. These are referred to as “Pork Barrel” provisions added onto beneficial legislation that, if they were submitted on their own merits would be denied with very little or no discussion.
I want to refute the notion that I must be a Democrat because I do not support George Bush and his presidency. I do not support George Bush because he is an arrogant, delusional Right Wing religious zealot who insists on making important decisions without the benefit of counsel and without sufficient knowledge of the situation that is being addressed. Glaring proof of this is his initiating and continuing the Iraq war despite protests from experts on both Iraq and the Iraqi people and its government that to do so would be inviting disaster. Information explaining that an unstable Iraq would erupt into civil war that would continue until two of the three factions that make up the solid majority of Iraqis (Shiites, Sunnis and Kurds) are killed off or completely neutralized. This opposing information would give a “normal” leader pause, and influence him/her to consider an alternative course of action. But not megalomaniacs like George Bush. He wants it; he does it; screw you. There are myriads of additional reasons I dislike Mr. Bush; some are as follows.
First and foremost, I do not like George Bush because of his disregard for the Constitution and Bill of Rights. These are sacred to the United States and have been defended by millions of Americans who gave their lives or limbs to assure that future citizens would know freedom and enjoy the liberty and justice spelled out within. They are empowered by human blood and sacrifice. However, George openly defies the Constitution in the areas where it interferes with his executive powers and/or his desire to conduct the country’s business in a manner that he sees fit. The high ground that once defined American values and practices has been deserted for the swamplands of torture, unwarranted government wire-tapping and general disregard of human rights.
Then, it is my opinion that George W. lacks a strong work ethic. When the going gets rough, George gets going to his Crawford ranch where he cuts brush and rides his mountain bike. He seems content to make his unenlightened decisions, walk away and let the chips fall where they may. His cabinet members are not overly energetic either. For instance, Condoleezza Rice makes tepid overtures to the Iranians to meet with her and discuss peace initiatives and curbing their nuclear arms program. These inquiries have only come with any urgency, or sense of importance, within the last six months. I strongly suspect that if her initiatives worked, George would not get to attack Iran and play the role of war time president once again. Therefore, being a good Bush supporter, she does as her boss wishes; make an insufficient attempt at diplomacy, state that the attempt didn’t work, then attack the country and show them America’s might! It took the State Department over three years after George identified North Korea as one of the “axis of evil” nations, to make any reasonable effort to begin a dialog with them to stop their nuclear arms program; and then only after South Korea and England repeatedly encouraged Ms. Rice to do so.
The last reason I will give is the Bush administration’s disregard and even disdain of the United Nations that has resulted in his going it alone in Iraq and in his relations (or lack of) with North Korea and Iran. While the UN is far from perfect, even a bit shoddy, it is the only place to win allies and support for our acts of aggression in Iraq and soon, Iran. It is also the only venue available where our country can bounce its ideas and plans off of an international assembly of countries and hope to win a buy-in resulting in a joint effort, alleviating the burden of going it alone. His father and Bill Clinton successfully used the United Nations and NATO to win support for the first Gulf War and the war in Kosovo.
I strongly feel that George Bush, with his arrogance, delusional self-importance and a cataclysmic need to be right in his decisions, to the point that he surrounds himself with like minded “advisors” who unilaterally agree with his plans and ideas, has severely diminished America’s stature and influence in the world community and has made us a laughing stock in our relations with other countries. One of the readers of my blogs left a comment that said Bush “is a country boy who got way too full of himself.” I couldn’t agree more. He shows little or no skills in leadership because he is so heavy-handed in his approach and closed minded to any idea different from his own. He is unlikable, ineffective, incapable, offensive and obtrusive. While it is definitely time for a change, I only see more of the same on the horizon; regardless of party affiliation and thanks in large part to the climate of contentiousness pervading both houses of Congress and the Executive branch. I’m afraid the next administration could be as unpleasant as the present one. God Bless America (and pass the ammunition!) Keep your powder dry.

U.S. Set To Strike Iran
The Bush Administration is about to go to war with Iran. I think President Bush intends to attack Iran with air strikes initiated from airbases in Turkey and missiles launched from battleships in the Persian Gulf, striking targets that he perceives are nuclear installations. Once again, he does not have good intelligence information detailing what these sites actually are nor does he have proof that Iran has nuclear weapons.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) headed by Dr. Mohamed ElBaradei, has inspected Iran’s nuclear sites and reported to the United Nations that Iran failed to disclose their uranium enrichment program. In December, 2006, the U.N. implemented sanctions against Iran designed to make them end this program. As late as September, 2007, Dr. ElBaradei argued against military action, stating "We have not seen any weaponization of their program, nor have we received any information to that effect - no smoking gun or information from intelligence. Based on the evidence we have, we do not see ... a clear and present danger that requires that you go beyond diplomacy."
The IAEA made a similar disclaimer concerning Iraq’s nuclear program, stating that they could find no evidence that Saddam had any nuclear weapons. They suggested that further diplomacy continue with Iraq instead of waging war. Bush ignored them in Iraq and is ignoring their interpretation of the situation in Iran. He has made up his mind to attack Iran and now he will make up the intelligence to support that action.
In my heart, I believe we are being led by a madman. One who shirked his duty during the Viet Nam war and who now has control over the military of the United States and does not hesitate to place our military men and women into another war that he is justifying based on his interpretation of the facts and perhaps on lies and half-truths like the ones he used to justify attacking Iraq.
He has already begun gathering Congressional buy-in by asking both houses of Congress to declare the Iranian Revolutionary Guard a Terrorist Organization when experts on Iran have pointed out that the army is not a staunch supporter of Ahmadinejad and his policies. However, many congress men and women did so without hesitation. They were afraid that the Bush Administration would brand them, at worst traitors and at best soft on fighting terror. The opposition, lead by Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reed, two terribly inept and ineffective leaders, are too intimidated by these charges to begin to challenge the reasons for war put forth by Bush and his political allies.
Once again, the American people will not suffer as a nation would during times of war. Only those Americans who have loved ones serving in the armed forces, a military severely weakened by an insufficient number of personnel, will feel the angst and anger associated with another war begun on trumped up reasons while the real reasons remain untold and unknown.
This time, however, it is not inconceivable that we may need to use nuclear weapons to defeat an army as large, well trained and equipped as Iran’s. If they should align with the Taliban in Afghanistan and the Muslim militias in Iraq, they could sweep down on our already sparsely staffed military and inflict heavy casualties on our fighting forces. I have no doubt that we will be triumphant in the end, but at a tremendous cost of life and limb to our military personnel and to many innocent civilians. The war could easily spread into Israel, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and be joined by China and Russia, especially if nukes are used against Iran. The possibilities are numerous and frightening.
I believe that George Bush is an “End of Timer.” A religious zealot bent on implementing a self fulfilling prophecy resulting in the “end of the world” battle of Armageddon and based on biblical lore. He is not an evil man but delusional as are some right wing religious zealots. He has a strong, narrow minded understanding of the bible and the biblical prophesies concerning the end of the world. I feel that he is determined to make his beliefs materialize and show the world the truth of the bible.
Shame on Bush, Chaney, Powell, Rumsfeld and others in the administration for lying to Congress and to the American people about the reasons for going to war in Iraq: shame on us and Congress if we don’t take the time and expend the effort to check the facts and the validity of the intelligence information this time around pertaining to war with Iran. Many additional lives will depend on it. Perhaps avoiding World War III will, too.

The Republicans Veto Their Own Fucking Bill
This is incredible. The Republican Party has sunk to a new, record setting, low. They consistently backed our incompetent, ineffective, incapable Republican president; failed to reign in his arrogance and rude behavior that has destroyed what was America’s proud place as a world leader and most respected country; consistently supported a war that is morally wrong and fiscally ruinous: and now they want to make amends for all of that and show (who - their own party?) that they are really the fiscally conservative, responsible spending party of small government by standing idly by watching George W, (for Worthless) Bush veto a Republican sponsored, bi-partisan supported, positively funded healthcare plan that helps poor children in America and that happens to be one of the best pieces of legislation that has come out of Congress in the last ten years! Are they stupid? Or do they think we are?
Well, bull Elephants, there’s an old saying where I come from “You Can’t Fix Stupid!” Time to vote you boys and girls and girly boys (thought I forgot you, huh Larry?) all out! Or maybe you could show that you all really aren't stupid by cutting off the Religious Right arm of your party and sending them to the Democrats as a gift. It would improve the IQ of both Parties! Hmm, maybe you can fix stupid? Nah!

The Bush Legacy - An American Horror Story
Let’s put all the cards on the table and call things as they are. It appears that George Bush has inadvertantly made his family, friends and eventually himself much wealthier than before he became president. He began the Iraq war for reasons known only to himself and his vice president, Richard Cheney. Whatever his reasons were, he has so far successfully kept them a secret, falling back on bogus security explanations that have many times been debunked. The facts appear to shed a light on reasons that are far more ominous than most people care to admit. One thing known, however, is that most of Bush’s actions since he waged war against Iraq have included no-bid contracts to his former employer (Halliburton and its subsidiary Kellogg, Brown & Root – these two finally broke apart in April, 2007) and to his friends (Blackwater Security); and these contracts have made these companies a huge profit windfall in the billions of dollars. Such behavior use to be frowned upon and would never have been allowed by the oversight committees in Congress. How has George gotten away with it? Much of that answer remains cloaked in the secrecy surrounding the workings of the president’s administration that stems from George’s complete inability to confront the problems brought upon the country by the 9/11 attacks.
Rather than making the responsibility of defending the country from future terrorist attacks a shared effort between the varied branches of government and our military, Bush has chosen to go it alone with his only counsel coming from equally inept and like minded members of his cabinet and advisory boards. They keep their plans a secret to keep them from public scrutiny; claiming the actions are warranted by unexplained and unidentified threats coming from Iran, Al Qaeda or the Taliban. George has branded members of Congress who do not sing from his songbook as being un-American, soft on fighting terrorism and in some cases, traitors. He has once again tricked these same members of Congress to vote on a proposition declaring that the Iranian army is a terrorist organization. Many Congress persons on both sides of the aisle were afraid, again, not to vote with George and his Secret Police; the most notable of these was Hillary Clinton. These Congress men and women were duped once again by the greatest game player in the history of the occupants of the Oval Office. Forced by accusations that they would be soft on terrorism if they did not side with George, they were fearful of challenging his supposition. If they had challenged him, they would have discovered from people familiar with Iran and its workings that the Iranian army is not at all fully behind their president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, another mad man like George W., and that the army has kept Mr. Ahmadinejad in check from acting more violently than his rhetoric suggests. If only our army could have the same affect on George Bush and his imperial actions against the nation of Iraq.
George W. has shown over again that he is unqualified to be president but has managed to hang on to his office because of his shrewdness and trickery that he enjoins against both houses of Congress. He would not have been re-elected had there not been such a polarized climate that existed in Washington and our country. That polarization was nurished by Bush and Karl Rove, the man who W. called “the Architect.” And what an architect he was, too. Mr. Rove’s ideas and rhetoric were accused of destroying many a political adversary’s good name and credibility with innuendo, lies and half truths. He has officially left his advisory position with the Bush administration but one can be sure that he remains just a phone call away.
What a hell ride the Bushkies have taken our government and nation on during these last nearly seven years. He has declared an unprovoked war that our country will remain embroiled in long after he has left office. He has been a chief provocateur responsible for raised oil prices and resulting gasoline prices to unprecedented highs and made his friends, family and eventually himself much richer than when he became president. And he has rewarded his friends and former employers with no-bid contracts that have made them unprecedented profits that will last for years to come. It certainly appears that he has been a good provider for his family and friends. Too bad he didn’t take at least token care of his country and fellow citizens. But then charity, kindness and compassion do not stand out as his strong suits do they?
I can only hope that someday he will be held accountable for his actions in a court of law and, if found guilty, be punished for what appear to be crimes against humanity. His blatant “in your face” style of leadership must not be passed on to future presidents. America could not stand another George W. Bush.

George is at it again!
George Bush has done it again. He has asked for Congressional buy-in to declare the Iranian army a terrorist organization. Many of the Republican and Democratic lawmakers voted in support of his declaration because they didn't want to be seen as weak on fighting terror. The problem is, no one took the time to become familiar with Iran and the relationship between Ahmadinejad and the Iran army.
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and George Bush are not too dissimilar in their leadership styles. Both are hotheads who speak in grandiose ways about national pride and service to their country. Both use their positions as leaders of their countries to further their personal agendas and make themselves more important than they are. George Bush is more dangerous than his Iranian counterpart but not by much. Mr. Bush is trying to start another war in the Iraq/Iran region for a purpose known only to himself and his vice president Dick Cheney. They are both attempting to make Iran and the Iranian people, government and army out to be blatant terrorists with the destruction of the United States as their only goal.
However, if one listens to experts on Iran and her citizens, he/she would find that Mr. Ahmadinejad is not on the solid ground that our government would lead our lawmakers to believe. As a matter of fact, the Iranian army is much divided in their support of their president in his cat and mouse game with the U.S. While some of the army personnel do help the insurgents in Iraq, it is far from a majority of them. Many still do not like the Iraqi people and refuse to help them in their battle against the American invaders.
Interestingly, when George Bush asked for solidarity in defining Iran's army as being terrorists, our own military leaders, in the form of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, put Mr. Bush on notice that they would not support a new war with Iran and that we were treading on dangerous ground by asking for the terrorist vote. By branding the entire Iranian army as a group of terrorists it has pulled them together and caused them to put their differences aside and make a united front against the American forces in Iraq. In short, our president has made the situation even worse than he had made it up until now; a feat that only a completely incompetent man in his position could achieve. George Bush has created a dangerous situation that could have been avoided by the initiation of talks with the Iranian leaders and applying some pressure to the Iranian army to support a peace initiative rather than saber rattling our way to another war.
Please remember that this man George Bush who is posing as a war time president rather than what he really is, a president who started a war, successfully evaded military service during the Viet Nam era and who now is taking obvious pleasure playing a war time president without any concern or even guilt over the deaths of thousands of American GIs and tens of thousands of Iraqis. His flippant remarks “bring it on” and “we’re kicking ass” and “mission accomplished” and other crude and thoughtless proclamations more than prove my point that he is a reckless, incompetent and inferior “leader”. He is, however, a diabolical and ruthless game player who uses his uncanny skills and ability to trap others into playing his game without their even realizing it.
He sprung such a trap on the clueless Democratic frontrunner, Ms. Clinton. He got her to once again vote for his insane plans to go to war, this time with Iran. She was a sheep led to the slaughter by an unkind shepherd who made her again commit her support to a war of his making just to show she was not soft on fighting terrorism. You blew it, Ms. Clinton. You fell right into the hands of the Republicans and George Bush in particular. You got caught in one hell of a political trap and it will be interesting to see how you get out of this one. Obama, Edwards, Dodd and Kucinich have not as yet voted to declare the Iranian Revolutionary Guard (the army) a terrorist organization; smelling a trap, I think.

The gutless Democrats won’t stop the funding for the war fearing that the backlash of killing and mayhem that will accompany our troop's withdrawal will be blamed on them instead of the one responsible for the whole mess; George W. So we continue down this dangerous and inhumane road for a while longer until our congressional leaders can rightly fix the blame on the other guy without regard for the deaths and dismemberments that occur daily in Iraq. Now that’s democracy at its worse! God bless America!
